Comprehensive Preventive Care Exam

The comprehensive preventive care exam is the single most powerful diagnostic tool in all of medicine! It helps us detect many serious health problems and diseases (for example, dental disease and cancer). Your pet needs regular physical examinations starting at 6 weeks of age. We also include a periodontal risk assessment with every preventive care exam. This is an important step in detecting and preventing periodontal disease.

The comprehensive exam includes taking your pet’s temperature, checking his abdomen, skin/coat, ears, eyes, mouth, teeth, gums, paws, toenails and listening to his heart and lungs. Carefully examining each of these areas is a critical part of keeping your pet healthy.
